Intinéraires proposed by Alexandre Destraz (Vaud cyclist)

Introducing Alexandre Destraz

Affected by the cycling virus since 1989, my passion for the sport, and in particular for the XC and Trail mountain bike, remains intact 30 years later. So when my friend Freddy Oguey asked me to create mountain bike routes for his hotel-restaurant from Le Cerf to Sepey, I gladly accepted, as it was an opportunity to discover in depth the most beautiful landscapes of French-speaking Switzerland, as well as to enjoy the hotel-restaurant itself offering a truly 4-star comfort with its sauna and steam room, its spacious rooms and full of cachet , and its restaurant with tasty and generous traditional cuisine!

Author's information on the routes

The 10 courses offered (P1 to P10) are the fruit of corneal choices, because the region offers all possible practices, from the family ride by electric mountain bike, to a practice type enduro very committed and dangerous too. On all this range of practices, we have chosen to offer you varied and spectacular itineraries, but as little dangerous as possible. Even if it is necessary to remain careful on certain passages, almost everything should be able to pass on the bike, both uphill and downhill, for a middle-level mountain biker.

The Sepey is ideally placed in the heart of 4 massifs unmissable by their beauty, which I tried to sweep as best I could with the 10 courses on offer, to give you plenty of eyes!

  1. Leysin region with the Berneuse, its dizzying glance on Lake Geneva, and its descents on Corbeyrier and Eagle: course P1, P2, P7, P10 and P12.
  2. The Mosses with Lake Lioson and Mont d’Or, in a landscape that is smooth and harmonious, with several beautiful singles: P2, P3, P4 and P8.
  3. The highs of the Diablerets with the jewel that is Lake Retaud, a stunning view of the Glacier of the Diablerets, and fields blooming as far as the eye can see in the beautiful season: course P4, P5 and P8.
  4. The Chamossaire massif with the Lake of Chavonnes in its hollow, in a green setting, and at its top an incredible 360-degree panorama: P6, P9 and P11.

These courses have been designed to be built comfortably over the space of half a day, and also to be combined with each other, for the most greedy.

Remember to respect pedestrians and stay alert in descents, the most mundane of which sometimes reserve a few surprises, possibly requiring to put your foot on the ground.
